An HCC Program developed to ensure success for all learners using the National Institute for Learning Development approach
We are aware that . . .
- not all students learn in the same ways.
- every student is unique, so our approaches to teaching and learning must be, as well.
- learning challenges can be overcome, and IQ scores can be raised.
For some students, such as those with learning differences, and/or those who fall behind their peers academically, the academic foundation could be weak; however, when the right tools are implemented within an appropriate setting—tools that tackle learning issues at the root—the academic foundation is restored.
Most teaching uses only sight and sound, but our multi-sensory approach uses these senses plus touch (tactile) and movement (kinetic) to enhance memory and learning.
An NILD Educational Therapist uses interactive, multi-faceted techniques to help struggling students think and learn effectively.
Our Socratic teaching model is based on asking and answering questions to stimulate critical thinking. This type of learning strengthens reasoning, stimulates ideas, and creates independent thinkers.
Educational therapists improve cognitive functioning by identifying each student’s individual deficits and subsequently developing an individualized program for each student. With regular recognition of student success and careful monitoring of progress, achieving goals is apparent to both the parents and the student early in the process of remediation.
Hill Creek’s Pathways to Success program offers help to any students who struggle with academics.
